Child Psychologist in IsraelWhen your child needs support, I'm right here with you
I'm Irina Soselia, a child psychologist. For more than 25 years I've worked with children and their parents in Israel. I see families in person in Rishon LeZion and online across the country.
You're not alone
Almost every parent knows this worry
Sleepless nights, thoughts going in circles, the quiet question of whether you're getting it wrong. If any of that sounds like you, you're not alone. Nearly every parent whose child is having a hard time feels exactly this.
Reaching out to a child psychologist can feel frightening, as if it means admitting you failed. It's the opposite. You're looking for help because you love your child and want things to feel lighter for them.
You're already reading this page, so the first step is done. From here we go on together, calmly and without judgment.

What to watch for
When it's worth talking to a child psychologist
No single sign here is a diagnosis. But when something lasts for weeks and gets in the way of your child's life, it's worth a conversation.
Sleep has turned anxious
Nightmares, fear of falling asleep alone, frequent waking, or coming back to your bed.
Behaviour has shifted
Sudden anger, withdrawal, tantrums, or slipping back to things your child had outgrown.
It's hard with other children
Loneliness, conflicts at kindergarten or school, trouble making and keeping friends.
School has become a struggle
Refusing to go, anxiety when leaving you, grades sliding down.
Big changes at home
Divorce, a move, a new sibling, or the loss of someone close.
The body speaks for the child
Frequent headaches or stomach aches a doctor can't explain. That's often how stress shows up in kids.

How it works
How our work together goes
Nothing sudden, nothing forced. We go at the pace that fits your child.
1We get to know each other
At the first meeting you tell me what worries you, and I listen. Together we make sense of what's going on and decide where we want to get to.
2We play and we talk
With little ones I work through play, their natural language. With teenagers we talk directly and work with emotions. Each age has its own way in.
3I bring you in
Parents are part of the process for me. We meet regularly, and I give you clear things you can use at home, not only in the office.
4We see the change
I tell you honestly how things are going, what's working and what still needs time. You always know where we are.
Where I can help
What families most often come to me with
My work draws on proven methods: play therapy, cognitive-behavioural and family approaches. But the method always bends to fit the child, never the other way around.
My style is warm but steady. Your child feels safe with me, and you and I have a clear plan.
Sessions in Russian, Hebrew and English.
My office is in Rishon LeZion, with online sessions for families in other cities.
What parents ask most
Short answers to the questions almost everyone brings.
Let's talk
You don't have to carry this alone
The sooner we start, the easier it is for your child. One call often takes away half the worry, because now there's someone to help you figure it out.
You've already taken the first step. Let's take the next one together.
